Finally, Ocean Alexander and Ed Monk jr, NA, have produced an updated model of their famous trawler series with this Long Range Cruiser. Having hundreds and hundreds of trawlers built for the last 30 years Ocean Alexander re-engineered this Long Range Cruiser model to further horizon cruising. Ed Monk, Jr took all that he has learned thru the years with his father, and then his own designs, to create this new generation LRC with Ocean Alexander owner experience.

Simply look under the water at the proprietary “S-Bow”…the bulb will tell you this is a new design. To smooth out the ride, and lengthen the water line, this bulb is state-of-the-art. The result of more speed with less fuel provides the longer range while keeping the twin diesels for speed and safety when needed. This design is not a refinement, but an evolution. They took all that history, launched a round of studies: hydrostatic data, prismatic coefficients and displacement-to-length ratios, and went thru extensive tank testing which has now proven herself in the trial runs on the actual OA60LRC.

Trawler owners also wanted a larger, more protected aft cockpit, more functional fb with easy access stairways (interior and from cockpit), and more storage for all the cruising equipment. The cockpit lazarette is huge, with access to engine room for the mechanic and oil change messes. You will find it all here in a very ergonomic, easy to use design. Topside the hardtop on the fb provides protection from weather and sun and adds another “room” to hang out. The covered side decks keep the sun off the salon windows, and keeps rain off the very important mate.

The interior has been completely redesigned by interior designer with luxurious considerations. Just because you are finally taking that long cruise doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice. The galley is separate yet opens to the salon, providing a much more comfortable salon and efficient galley. Of course the master stateroom is huge and luxurious, but also has a separate area for washer/dryer and lots of storage. You can also access the engine room thru a “stand up” water-tight bulkhead door.
